Kapa Haka

 I was part of Kapa Haka group this year. Here is our final performance. We performed outside because of covid - 19. 

SLJ Colouring Activity

This is a NASA astronaut in space floating because there is gravity in space. There is no oxygen in space because There is nothing to give us oxygen in space.

Te Whare Tapa Wha

This year we have been learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and how it helps us. We made a slide to show the things we do to help us for each part. We need to keep all parts of our whare strong to be happy, healthy and safe. 

Term 4 Basic Facts

We enjoy practising our basic facts each day using Prototec.  We also try and beat the clock on paper throughout the year.  Here is my Term 4 results.  I am proud of my division.

Thank you Letter

 A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to KawaKawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.

Caving and Glow worms work

We learned lots when we were on our camp and wanted to Share these with Team Maunga before they go on their trip.  For reading and writing we have been busy creating things to help Team Maunga.  Here is my work on caving.

Vaseline Saucer

We created Vaseline Saucers.  We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns.  Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work.  Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

 

Life Education

 Last week we visited the Life Education Caravan.  We were learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and Resilience.  Here is a google draw we made up to help us think and remember what resilience is.

Greats and Grands

Boom Boom Panda Life

 For T-Shaped literacy we got to learn about Conservation.  Here is a create task I made.  It is a slide about pandas.  1 thing I enjoyed was making the slide with my friends.  1 thing I learned was it is bad to hunt pandas.

Ngā āhua - Shapes

 We have been learning to describe and name shapes in Maths using their Te reo names and asking questions in Te reo Māori. Here is some of my work.

My Scratch Project

On the last week I have been working on a scratch project that helps my audience understand how to use google meet effectively when in class call. 

We had to to add our voice to the scratch project so that when someone clicks the icon my voice would appear and tell you about the icon.

Mini Olympics

Puppet Show

I worked with Kaelan, Nate and Harley Barlow. We made a movie about language features like nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives. Here is our movie.  

Outdoor Classroom Day - Movie

 On outdoor classroom day we went out the back to make movies about hut making.  

We learned about the basic movie shots.

It was easy too set the iPad up on the right angle.

It was hard not to get the sun in the filming.

I liked it because we learnt how to filming movies.

Photo Challenge

 I have been learning about taking photos on an iPad.  We were learning about the rule of thirds.  The rule of thirds is putting the subject on the sides so you can see more of the background.  We also got to look at different photos and see how different angles create different stories for the same subject (what we are taking a picture of).

I liked taking pictures one of our school Pou and taking photos from different angles.  The picture I liked best is the photo when I was laying down because it is looked straight up.

Digital Artwork

This term we have been learning some new techniques for creating digital art pieces. Here is my artwork from this term. 

I like my pop art because it has bright colours.

I like my kiwi texture because it looks like its real.

I learnt how to make a textured picture.

Hut Movie Making

In Team Awa we had an outdoor learning day. We got to go outside and make huts around the back. We were learning about how movie making is like writing a story and that we needed to take different types of movie shots. Here is some examples of what I learned.
